This is clearly one of the most debatable topics in the country, so naturally I am going to put in my two cents to everyone that isn’t asking. If the Seminoles hadn’t lost Jordan Travis this obviously isn’t a conversation. I can understand why this is the debate it is today because people just want to see the 4 best teams in the country battle it out for the top spot.

I do believe going undefeated in a season inside of a power 5 conference should matter. Cincinnati made it into the playoffs while going undefeated out of the AAC which is a conference that is currently losing its teams to the conference that FSU just dominated. I understand that the argument can be made that the Seminoles aren’t the same team without their quarterback and they aren’t as good as some of these one loss teams. Maybe.

Remember when Ohio State won the Big 10 championship with their third string quarterback, and went on to win the national championship? That was less than 10 years ago. I am sure that Ohio State team is better than this Florida State team as well. Ezekiel Elliot went absolutely insane in those three games too. Which ultimately led to the Cowboys picking him one spot higher than Jalen Ramsey, and yes I’m still upset about that to this day. ANYWAYS… how can we ignore this Florida State team?

Did the Florida State defense not come out and participate in a perfect season? The o line, the special teams, and the coaching staff all deserve to be celebrated. The biggest problem for Florida State is the fact that Texas beat Alabama. If that game didn’t happen none of this matters. The playoff committee has to put Alabama in . They just beat the best team in the country three years running. That also means that they have to put Texas in because Texas is Alabama’s one loss. If Texas was a one loss team without the Alabama win Alabama just jumps them in the rankings Texas is the first team left off and nobody outside of Austin cares. People in the Big 12 would probably be happy because I am pretty sure Texas and Oklahoma are public enemy to the Big 12 at this point.

It would have really helped out Florida State’s case if Brock Glenn’s performance wasn’t absolutely terrible. However I go back to all the other 100 players and staff members that were a big part of making this team an undefeated team all season.
